Browsing Products

How shoppers discover and explore products — home page sections, the products listing, search, filtering, sorting, product detail pages, and variants.

Shoppers have three main paths to find products: the home page (curated sections), the products listing page at /products (full catalog with search, filters, and sort), and direct links from banners or category tiles.

Home page sections

The home page is made up of up to seven independently toggleable sections. Each section renders only when its toggle is on and the backend has content for it. Sections with no data are silently skipped even when enabled.

Category tabs

A horizontally scrollable tab bar lists all active categories. Selecting a tab filters the product grid to that category. An All tab always appears first and shows the full catalog.

Search

The search bar (accessible from the navigation) filters products by name. When a search is active, a "Results for …" label appears above the grid along with a Clear link to reset it.

Sorting

Use the Sort by dropdown above the grid to change the result order:

Option

Behaviour

Relevance

Default; backend-determined order

Newest First

Most recently added products first

Price: Low to High

Cheapest products first

Price: High to Low

Most expensive products first

Price range filter

Enter a minimum and/or maximum value and press Apply to narrow results by price. A Clear Filters button appears while a price filter is active.

Pagination

Previous / Next page buttons appear once results span more than one page. The current page number is highlighted between the two buttons.

Product cards

Each card in the grid shows the product image, category label, and product name. When permitted by your settings, the price and an Add button with a − / + quantity stepper also appear.

Additional overlays and badges:

Element

When it appears

"NEW" badge (top-left of image)

Product is flagged as new in the backend AND PRODUCT_CARD_NEW_BADGE is on

"IN STOCK" badge (top-right of image)

Stock tracking is enabled, the product has stock, AND PRODUCT_CARD_STOCK_INFO is on

"OUT OF STOCK" overlay (covers the image)

Stock tracking enabled, available stock is 0, AND PRODUCT_CARD_STOCK_INFO is on

Share button (bottom-right of image)

SHOW_SHARE_BUTTON is on; uses the device's native share sheet, or copies the product URL to the clipboard as a fallback

Out-of-stock products remain clickable so shoppers can read the description or submit an enquiry.

Product detail page (/products/<slug>)

Image gallery

The main image supports hover-zoom on desktop (cursor/pointer devices only — touch is unaffected). If the product has multiple images, a thumbnail strip appears below the main image; clicking a thumbnail switches the view. When a variant is selected, the gallery updates to that variant's images if they exist.

Variants

When a product has variants (for example size or colour), a set of selector buttons appears for each attribute. Options that are unavailable given the current selection are dimmed and non-interactive. Selecting a variant immediately updates the displayed price, compare-at price, and image gallery.

Price and compare-at price

When price is visible, both the current selling price and the struck-through original price (MRP) are shown side by side if an offer price is set in the backend.

Action buttons

Button

When it appears

What it does

Add to Cart

Price is visible AND SHOW_ADD_TO_CART_BUTTON is on

Adds the chosen quantity (and selected variant) to the cart; shows a confirmation toast

Enquire

Always visible

Links to the enquiry form at /enquiry

Wishlist (heart icon)

Always visible

Saves or removes the product from the wishlist; a filled heart means the item is already saved

Share

SHOW_SHARE_BUTTON is on

Native share sheet or clipboard copy of the product URL

When SHOW_ADD_TO_CART_BUTTON is off or prices are hidden, only Enquire and Wishlist are shown. This is the standard B2B / enquiry-only configuration.

If a product has variants and the shopper presses Add to Cart without selecting all required attributes, an inline validation message prompts them to complete the selection before proceeding.

Product tabs

Below the main info panel, additional tabs may display an extended description, technical properties/specifications, and customer reviews, depending on what the backend provides for that product.

Price-visibility rule

Price (and the Add to Cart button) follow a two-part check on every page:

  1. SHOW_PRODUCT_PRICE must be on — this is the master price switch.
  2. Either SHOW_PRICE_PUBLIC is on (anyone, including guests, can see prices), or the current visitor is a verified/approved account (profile verified in the backend).

For wholesale or B2B stores, SHOW_PRICE_PUBLIC is typically turned off. Guests and non-approved accounts see only Enquire and Wishlist. Approved account holders see prices and can add to cart normally.
