Cart & Wishlist

How shoppers add products to the cart or wishlist, adjust quantities, review the order summary, and move items between lists.

CloudPos Ecom provides two ways for shoppers to save products: the cart (items ready to purchase) and the wishlist (a save-for-later list). Both are stored in the browser and persist across page visits.

The Add to Cart button and all price information are gated by the price-visibility rule. When prices are hidden — the typical B2B / enquiry-only configuration — shoppers see only Enquire and Wishlist; the cart is not offered. See Website Settings Reference for details.

Adding items to the cart

Items can be added from two places:

From a product card (listing page or home page sections):

  1. Use the − / + stepper on the card to choose a quantity (default: 1).
  2. Press Add. A brief toast notification at the bottom of the screen confirms the item was added.

From the product detail page:

  1. If the product has variants (size, colour, etc.), select the desired option for each attribute. An inline error message appears if you try to add to cart without completing the selection.
  2. Use the quantity selector (minimum 1) to set how many to add.
  3. Press Add to Cart. A confirmation toast appears at the bottom of the screen.
The Add to Cart button is disabled and labelled "Out of Stock" when the product's available stock is zero (and stock tracking is enabled). An overlay also covers the product image on cards to signal this state.

Cart page (/cart)

Item list

Each line in the cart shows the product thumbnail, name, unit price × quantity, and line total (when prices are visible). Per-item controls:

Control

What it does

− button

Decreases quantity by 1 (minimum 1; pressing at 1 has no effect)

+ button

Increases quantity by 1; disabled when quantity already equals available stock (requires stock tracking to be enabled on the product)

Trash icon

Removes that item from the cart entirely

Remove All

Clears every item from the cart in one action

If a stock limit is hit when increasing quantity, a toast error message appears at the bottom of the screen.

Order summary

The summary panel appears on the right side of the screen on desktop and at the top on mobile. When prices are visible it shows:

Line

Source

Per-item breakdown

Each product name, unit × quantity, and line total

Subtotal

Sum of all line totals

Discount

Any cart-level discount returned by the backend

Tax

Individual named tax lines, or a single tax total if the backend returns one figure

Shipping

Delivery charge as calculated by the backend

Total

Grand total as returned by the backend

When prices are hidden, the summary shows only the item list without any monetary values.

Proceeding to checkout

Press Checkout to navigate to /checkout. If the shopper is not logged in, a note beneath the button explains that a verified phone number is required to complete an order. Whether guests can proceed at all depends on the checkout settings described below.

Wishlist (/wishlist)

The wishlist lets shoppers bookmark products without committing to purchase. Items persist in the browser until the shopper removes them.

Adding to the wishlist

On the product detail page, press the heart button (shown alongside the Enquire button). The heart icon fills to indicate the item is saved. Pressing it again removes it from the wishlist.

Wishlist page actions

Each wishlist card shows the product image, name, and price (when prices are visible). Two actions are available per card:

Action

What it does

Move to Cart

Adds the item to the cart and removes it from the wishlist in one step. Disabled when the item is out of stock.

Trash icon

Removes the item from the wishlist without adding it to the cart

An empty wishlist shows a Continue Shopping button that links back to /products.

Price visibility in cart and wishlist

The same two-part price-visibility rule that governs product listings also applies inside the cart and wishlist:

  • All monetary values (prices, line totals, subtotal, taxes, shipping, grand total) are shown only when SHOW_PRODUCT_PRICE is on and either SHOW_PRICE_PUBLIC is on or the visitor is a verified/approved account.
  • The Move to Cart button on wishlist cards is always visible regardless of price visibility.
  • The price displayed on each wishlist card follows the same rule.

For the full rule explanation see Website Settings Reference.
